III. Race date and venue

 (I) Time: November 10, 2019 (Sunday); start at 08:00 a.m.

(II) Venue: Nanbin Road, Chongqing


IV. Events

 (I) Half Marathon: 21.0975km– 3,500 runners

(II) 10km Run: 10km – 2,500 runners

(III) Mini Run: 5km – 3,000 runners

(IV) Family Run: 5km – 1,500 teams (two runners in each team)


V. Race routes

      1. Half Marathon (21.0975km)

Chongqing Nanbin Park(starting point) → Under the Chaotianmen Bridge (turn back) → Chongqing Nanbin Park → Under the Yangtze River Bridge → Under the Caiyuanba Bridge → Kongque Wan (turn back) → Under the Caiyuanba Bridge → Under the Yangtze River Bridge → Entrance to Nanbin Park (finishing point)

2. 10km Run (10km)

Chongqing Nanbin Park(starting point) → Under the Chaotianmen Bridge (turn back) → Nanbin Park (finishing point)

3. Mini Run and Family Run (5km)


VI. Race Requirements:

(I) The race shall comply with the latest race Rules and Regulations approved by the Chinese Athletics Association.

(II) Athletes registered in the Chinese Athletics Association have to show their certificate to compete in the events.

(III) Roll-call: Please arrive at the designated zone for roll-call 40 minutes before the events.

(IV) Start time and order: The events start in the sequence of Half Marathon, 10km Run, Mini Run, and Family Run, with 10m distance between each event. .

(V) All events are started at the same time. The top three athletes in Half Marathon are determined by the gun time results. Runners in other places in Half Marathon and results of all runners in 10km Run are determined by net time.

(VI)Closing Distance and Time (according to starting gun firing)To ensure the safety and smooth performance of runners, the routes will be closed to traffic within a certain time. Normal traffic will be resumed after the Closing Time. Runners who fail to complete the race in the designated Closing Time should cease the race and leave the routes immediately to avoid accidents. Those who quit the race can take the bus provided by the Organizing Committee to reach the finish lines of the corresponding events.

(VII) The race is timed by using the sensing system. All runners must properly wear the sensor chip as required. The timing sensor belt is installed at the starting point and the segment timing points. The runners must pass the timing sensor belt on the ground one by one. If the runner lacks score at a timed point, the race result will be cancelled. The timing chip (disposable chip not recycled) will be given beforehand together with the bib number cloth. Please see the Manual for more details.

(VIII) Water station and supply station: There is a beverage station every 5km; starting with 7.5km point, there is a water station every 5km. The race has a supply stations at 12.5km and 17.5km respectively.

(IX) Runners can obtain completion souvenir by showing their bib number cloth if they complete the event within Closing Time.

(X) Runners for Half Marathon and 10km Run shall deposit their personal belongings in designated places as required. Valuable items should not be kept in the bag (e.g. mobile phones, valid documents, cash, credit card, keys and palmtops, etc.). Runners can retrieve their personal belongings before 12:00 p.m. on the race day. If they fail to retrieve the personal belongings before the above-mentioned time, they can claim it on the next day in the Organizing Committee’s office. If runners fail to retrieve their belongings within three days, the Organizing Committee will dispose of them as the ones without owners.

(XI) The Organizing Committee will monitor the starting point, the finish point, the turning point and all the timing points via CCTV. Runners who have the following violations will be disqualified, with their personal information typed into the application recognition system. Such runners are not allowed to run in the Chongqing International Women’s Half Marathon for two years. At the same time, more fines might be levied by the Chinese Athletics Association. For runners with serious violations, they will be rejected by the race for life.

1. Registered by false age or have others running on your behalf after registration;

2. Runners carry other people’s chips or one runner carries two or more chips at the same time in the race;

3. Start in the zone not belonging to the runner;

4. Not start in the regulated time;

5. Refuse to stop the race after the Closing Time; or get into the track again after quitting;

6. Fail to complete the event in the regulated route; take the short cut or take the vehicle to the track in the midway;

7. Runners for Half Marathon and 10km Run fail to carry their own bib number cloth when passing the finish line;

8. Go through the finish line without completing the entire route just to obtain the souvenir;

9. Disobey the instructions of the event staff, interfere with the event, gather to make troubles and fight;

10. Pass the finish line repeatedly to get the souvenirs;

11. Forge the bib number cloth and have others run alternately for runners;

12. Other violations of the rules.

(XII) If the runners use false information to obtain the qualifications or transfer the bib number cloth to others so that others run on their behalf, such runners will bear responsibility for all the consequences once the violation is confirmed by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee will ban the transferor and the transferee from all the subsequent Chongqing International Women’s Half Marathon while holding them legally accountable for the consequences.

(XIII) Set the medical service according to relevant requirements of the Chinese Athletics Association:

1. Provide fixed medical service stations and points in the starting point, finish point and along the track (every 2.5km from the 5km point), so as to provide medical service for runners free of charge;

2. Establish mobile AED medical rescue service along the track;

3. Deploy one or two medical service volunteers every 1km along the track to assist in medical service and maintain the race order. Runners can ask them for help at any time;

4. During the race, if the medical representative or the medical worker and staff of the Organizing Committee observe and find a runner is not suitable for the race, they will demand the runner to quit the race. And the runner should execute the demand immediately.

VII. Awards method

(I) Half Marathon

1. According to the gun time, the top three runners athletes will be awarded the prizes; and the 1st to the 30th runners (with the 4th to the 30th runners admitted according to the net results) will receive the bonuses (see table below shown in RMB).

3. The above prizes will not be granted at the same time, with the higher prize granted.

4. Set the Record Breaking Award. If your gun firing result gun time takes the first place and is better than 1:19:211 hour 19 minutes and 21 seconds, you can get the RMB 10,000 Record Breaking Award.

6. After the race, runners completing the race can log onto the official website to query the results and print the certificates.

7. According to China’s tax law, the Organizing Committee will withhold 20% of bonus as the personal income tax. No bonus will be paid on site. After the results are announced, if there is no objection, the Organizing Committee will contact the winners to hand out bonuses. If the results are found to be problematic after the public announcement, the ranking will be cancelled and the subsequent rankings will not move forward.

VIII. Participation requirement

(I) Age requirement

1. Half Marathon runners shall be over 16 years old (born before December 31, 2003); for juvenile runners aged below 18, the guardian or legal representative shall sign the runner statement before the race.

2. 10km Run runners shall be over 16 years old (born before December 31, 2003); for juvenile runners aged below 18, the guardian or legal representative shall sign the runner statement before the race.

3. Mini Run runners shall be over 13 years old (born before December 31, 2006); for juvenile runners aged below 18, the guardian or legal representative shall sign the runner statement before the race.

4. For the Family Run, an adult aged above 20 (born before December 31, 1999) takes a child aged below 13 (born after December 31, 2006) to run in it. For juvenile runners aged below 18, the guardian or legal representative shall sign the runner statement before the race.

5. For runners aged above 65, the immediate family member needs to co-sign the runner statement and the health certificate should be provided.

(II) Requirements for physical conditions: Marathon is a long-distance race sport featured by heavy load and intensity. Marathon has high requirements for physical conditions of runners, who should be healthy and have long-time experience in running exercise or training. Based on the physical conditions and capabilities, runners can sign up for one of the events, e.g. half marathon, 10km Run, Mini Run or Family Run.

Those who have one of the following diseases are not allowed to compete in the events:

1. Congenital heart disease or rheumatic heart disease;

2. High blood pressure or cerebrovascular disease;

3. Myocarditis or other heart diseases;

4. Coronary artery disease or severe arrhythmia;

5. Diabetes featuring too high or too low blood glucose;

6. Catching a cold within two weeks before the race day;

7. Pregnancy;

8. Other diseases that are not suitable for sports

The runner should take responsibility for any personal injury or property loss in the race caused by her physical conditions or other individual factors. It is strongly recommended by the Organizing Committee of Chongqing International Women’s Half Marathon that all the runners should receive medical examination in registered medical institutions and purchase personal accident insurance.

(III) The Organizing Committee will strictly review and screen whether the applicants are included in the Banned List for Marathon and Related Sports races in China. Once the runners are found in the List, the Organizing Committee will immediately cancel their qualifications and report to the Chinese Athletics Association.

(IV) Application methods

Chongqing International Women's Half Marathon 2019 will accept registration of 12,000 runners in total, including 3,500 runners for Full Marathon, 2,500 runners for 10km Run, 3,000 runners for Mini Run, and 1,500 teams for Family Run (with each team containing two runners). No more application will be accepted if the above ceiling is reached. Once the application is approved, applicants cannot change the event. Application fee will not be refunded if the applicants withdraw from the race.

3. Domestic and overseas applicants (including HKSAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan region) for Mini Run: RMB 70 RMB/person (including the disposable timing chip)

4. Domestic and overseas applicants (including HKSAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan region) for Family Run: RMB 140 RMB/person (for both adult and child; including the disposable timing chip)


IX. Insurance

The Organizing Committee will purchase personal accident insurance for all runners and staff in the race. The runners are held accountable if they fail to provide incomplete or inaccurate application information, which might lead to failure to purchase insurance or result in invalidity of the insurance.
